Remember last week when you didn’t have a care in the world? There was nothing to get up in arms about and certainly no new projects coming down the chute that were poorly cast money-grabs. It was a better time, but it’s a time that’s past.

Fox - our favorite studio ever! - is going ahead with plans to bring “Cowboy Bebop” to the big screen in live-action fashion with, wait for it….

…still waiting….

…Keanu Deadpan Reeves in the main role as Spike. It seems like Poorly Cast Money-Grabs are actually being turned into a viable genre by Fox.

Fans of the iconic program, feel free to show the same kind of outrage that’s bubbling up inside me right now. How long until Fox gets a hold of “Lupin”, “Read or Die”, or “Trigun” and cast Keanu Reeves or Paul Walker?

I’ve been keeping an eye on the In Development project through IMDB, and they now have Reeves attached as well as a fairly-novice screenwriter named Peter Craig. The Hollywood Reporter is confirming the attachment.

Luckily, we’ll have to wait until 2011 to see what sort of damage Fox does to the beloved series, and, with any luck, the project will fall apart completely.

Stay tuned for when Fox announces they’ve cast Winona Ryder as Ed.
